GE Security releases SymSafeTM family of Hybrid Digital Video Recorders
Expands Video Integration Options for ForcefieldTM Management Software
SymSafe Pro DVRs offer lower cost alternative for stand-alone and video integration applications.
GE Security has released version 6.0.2 of its industry leading ForcefieldTM Integrated Security Management Software which seamlessly combines access control, intrusion detection and video surveillance into a single unified system, including integration with GE’s new lower cost SymSafe Pro range of Digital Video Recorders (DVRs).
Available with 4, 8 or 16 analogue channels, each SymSafe Pro model also records up to two IP streams, delivering “hybrid” recording that works with any analogue security camera as well as GE’s growing range of IP network products. Easing the transition from analogue to IP recording, GE Security’s Hybrid DVRs provide a unique migration path to IP recording whilst at the same time allowing continued utilisation of existing analogue equipment.
GE’s new SymSafe Pro and the established SymDecTM 16 plus 4 Hybrid DVRs both feature a sleek, low profile design and offer the professional features that today’s sophisticated video surveillance applications demand. SymSafe Pro DVRs use the same programming in Forcefield as SymDec 16 plus 4, but offer a more affordable mid-range alternative with real-time (25fps) recording on all channels @ 2CIF resolution (or 12.5fps per channel @ D1 resolution).
Excellent recording quality, scalability and compatibility make the SymSafe Pro line of hybrid recorders a good fit for installations such as schools and retail. They are also well suited to branch banking, as well as commercial installations requiring solid video performance at a competitive price.
Backward compatibility allows GE Nav v2 DVR management software to manage a broad combination of DVRs from legacy products including DVMRe and StoreSafeTM lines to the latest SymSafe Pro hybrid DVRs – enabling maximum leverage of long term investments in GE DVRs. Backed by a client/server architecture, GE Nav v2 is a fully scalable solution that can support applications ranging from enterprise IT environments down to stand-alone systems.
